Autumn Calabrese is a personal trainer to the celebrities, but is also a single working mother who, like most of us, doesn’t have an endless amount of time to dedicate to her own fitness. That’s what I thought, too. As it turns out, the 21 days weren’t bad at all! In fact, because I started seeing results so quickly, I began to look forward to each day’s 30 minute workout. Yes, 30 minutes is all it takes! Obviously, you do have to work hard in those 30 minutes; however, if the exercises are too difficult, Autumn offers modifications which make them very doable, while never compromising the effectiveness of the exercise. In the beginning I found myself using some of the modification techniques, but as the 21 days went on, each exercise became easier as I became stronger.

What also makes the exercise component of the Beachbody 21 Day Fix so much fun is the variety of workouts. Because the program includes 6 DVD’s, each day’s workout is different. Autumn will have you sweating to cardio, working your upper and lower body, and even practicing Pilates and yoga to strengthen your core and improve your balance and flexibility. As mentioned, each workout is only 30 minutes long, so you can get your workout on, and then get on with your life right away.

Now, for my favorite part of the program. Autumn is a big proponent of portion control, as it is obviously the easiest way to control calories and lose weight. The Beachbody 21 Day Fix comes with several containers of varying sizes and colors. Each container is designated for a certain type of food. For instance, your veggies go into the green, larger container. Carbs are held in the medium sized yellow container, and healthy fats, seeds & dressings, fruits, and proteins, each have a container assigned to them. So, instead of counting calories or weighing food, you simply fill the containers with what you want to eat, mix them up if desired, and voila! You have a meal of appropriate portion size and calories, while still being healthy and filling.
It should also be mentioned that with the program, Autumn Calabrese provides the 21 Day Fix Eating Plan. This simple plan gives you step by step instructions on portion control and healthy eating tips. Basically, it takes all of the planning out of mealtime, allowing you to focus on other, more important things.
Overall, the Beachbody 21 Day Fix made my life easy and gave me wonderful results in an amazingly short period of time. Because of its simplicity and effectiveness, I plan to continue to reap the benefits it has to offer.
